Glyph Projekt

Glyphs

I'm creating a language with form ahead of content--the way non-Mayanologists read the Myan glyphs. Eventually content might emerge.

Multi Musicians

This drawing is inspired by the febrile sounds of musicians on a subway platform in the dog days of summer, when the barrier of one's skin seems to melt, spewing your mind beyond borders of the envelope of self.

Aunt Meep's

Detail of my mural drawing, Aunt Meep's, early 1980s.

Courtesy of Todd Mecklem, who photographed and sent me an even larger photo of the whole drawing. This summer he saved a batch of my paintings and drawings from a storage locker in Oregon.

The whole storage locker thing reminds me a little of the show Storage Wars--but in this case I don't think a bunch of rambunctious Californians would have taken much pity on the contents of the locker. They might have been somewhat interested in my brother's Lionel trains, but I'm not sure if even "skeleton gloved" Berry would have taken this artifact--truly an odd lot!

More toons from the mid 70s

Rodents are great comix characters. These are more RatFink than Micky. I had yet to work out text bubble order.

Any ideas for the punch line?
